I just bought Dogz 5, and my pc is very new, and has much higher than the reccomended specs for this game.
But I can't get the sound it to work on my pc which is Windows 2000 and has DirectX 9.0b installed. I get an error message saying that the sound could not initialize.
Does anyone have Dogz 5 on a pc with either of Windows 2000 or DirectX 9.0b and the sound works??
Please reply if you do!!!

I get that too! I usually close all of my other programs I'm using and it works then.. or just restart my computer. Petz 5 is a moody game :S

It seems to be a problem between direct x 9.0b and windows 2000 sp4 and dogz 5. I haven't found any way of fixing it It really sucks. And no, I'm not 'downgrading' my directx or reinstalling windows, thanks ubi soft.

I had that when I first got Pezt 5. Was driving me crazy. I did EVERYTHING the help, manual and web sites said...couldn't get it to work. I had been toying with getting a new PC for a while and this was the final straw. I bought a new Pentium 4 fullu loaded with XP Professional. I know have many happy Petz that make sound... what a world!

Please forgive all of the typos above. I'm tired and was typing too quick!
