Have recently given birth to Mutt litters, not me, my Mutts, Martini and Mercedes, but I need something to call them. It says in the Help File that if you are stuck for names you can name them after the father. I have tried this and it claims that I already have a pet using this name and to choose another. Thing is I can't think of anything. I don't want suggestions or something off the web but something that I have thought of so that I know it's a hundred percent original and mine.

DogzCatzGal: Have you thought about naming the litter Martini Jnr and Mercedes Jnr or Martini 1, Martini 2, Martini 3 etc, until you can think up names. You might even find this link useful www.geocities.com/Petsburgh/Reserve/2000/names.htmlSpeedwagon. Jhayser: I don't think that Dogz 3 works on XP. I have heard many people that have installed it and not got it to work. Speedwagon.

If you have a light colored one, I suggest Finn. Finn in gaelic means fair.

I have a Petz 3 game and I can't get it to work on my XP. I've tried adopting petz and everything. But all it does is freeze. I'm not an expert on the Petz games, but I had a problem since I only had Catz 2, but just upgraded to Windows XP. So, I asked Petz Central how to deel with compatibility issues and this is what they told me - it may help you: Please look carefully at the system requirements listed on the box for your game. You should see a list of operating systems listed there. If your operating system is not listed on the box then we can not guarantee that the game will work properly on your computer. For many of our older titles you will notice that Windows 2000 and XP are not listed as supported operating systems. That is because many of our games were published prior to the release of these operating systems. Windows XP and 2000 use completely different file structures from Windows 95 and 98; so while you may be able to run some of our older games on Windows XP and Windows 2000, we can not provide support for installing or using our software on these Operating Systems. There is one thing you can try - although you must remember even if this works, the game remains unsupported under Windows XP. First, make sure you have the latest patch for this game (if one is available) from support.ubi.com. Next, navigate to the main game directory (where the game was installed). Find the main game executable file (ending in .exe if you have extentions turned on) and right click on it. Choose "Properties" and then click on "Compatibility". Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box, then select Windows 98/ME and click Apply. Try the game now. If it doesn't work, you can follow the same steps and try selecting "Windows 95" or other compatibility modes in a trial and error fashion. The game is still being run under Windows XP, so even if the game runs under a compatibility mode - it may run into future problems. This is a 'try at your own risk' method and the game remains unsupported under Windows XP. Hopefully you will have some luck and you can get the game working for you this way. We are looking into supporting all newer versions of Windows as they become available. At this time we do not have plans to change our older titles to make them Windows 2000/XP compatible for the reasons above. We realize this may be a problem for some users. If you have Windows 2000/XP on your machine and the game is not working, your best course of action may be to return the game to the place of purchase. We cannot provide information on getting our games to run on Windows 2000/XP other than the steps listed above. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

To get Petz 3 to work on Windows XP, have the game load into the Adoption Center, and go under General Options and turn the sound off. Then it should work fine. Unfortunately, there's no way to play Petz 3 with sound in Windows XP.

Reply to Chichy: I'm pretty sure the playscene editor is only for Petz 4...I haven't played either one for awhile because I have XP but I'm almost certain that the playscene editor is only for Petz 4. Krista

Okay, I recently got the Petz game and when searching for tips I found out that there are many different types of Petz games(such as 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5...) and I wanted to ask:which Petz game do I have? Just some extra info, it says that both Catz 5 and Dogz 5 are put into this game.
